KALI LENGHA or PANEL SKIRT

Kali or umbrella... kali or umbrella this is the one thought that kept repeating every waking and sleeping moment, and I was not able to decide what to do. 😩😧😏 When stitching a garment for oneself it seems so much more effort less and easier when compared to doing it for someone else.  Trust me i know..!!!  😣 My friend wanted to buy a ghagra/ lengha for helself.. We looked into a few which were online but nothing seemed actually good enough for the price. We were disappointed.😔 Then one day she suggests.. you know to stitch why don't you stitch me one??  I was like " SAY WHAT".😨  Then slowly the idea seemed good.. really good...  😉😊 But once we started looking into the fabric and the actual  time came to stitch the garment my night mare began. so many questions i kept asking myself.. which style?? how simple ??? will she like it??? etcccc... 😖😖😖😖 Any way finally I settle on a simple top made of sequenced material a...

Box pleated skirt

This is a box pleated skirt made with 2 fabric combinations. It is very easy to do and takes less time and effort. * First calculate the wanted waist and length measurements for the garment.. * Then cut the fabric into strips of desired width  depending on the wanted width for doing the box pleat. * Mark the length of the skirt and the cut fabric. * Attach the 2 fabric alternatively. * Finish the bottom hem. Then do the box pleat. * Attach the belt to the skirt. * Attach the fastners and voila.. we have

LAYERED SKIRT

This is a 3 layer skirt which I  made for my daughter. I used net with cotton lining  fabric. I loved the way it flows when down when worn. It took some time to make it since it was my first time and also because of all the gathering on net fabric. I am sure with time and some practice it would be easy.

Today I stitched yet another skirt and blouse for my little A..it was a gift set piece from my friend.. the color combination is really good..cant wait to try it on her..
