As the season changed from summer to fall..it was time to change from active to passive mode.. so out comes the wool and the crochet hook. What should I do?? what should the next project be.. ???🧐🧐 So then I decided to learn some thing new in crochet.. and as always YouTube one of my best friends.. was summoned and we browsed for some easy crochet stitches.. went through a few videos and finally decided on the Waffle stitch.. now time to learn.. went through many videos and tried out few samples.. once you get the rhythm it seemed pretty easy because it’s just a repeating stitch..  so now it was time to decide on the project.. keep it simple was the motto.. so I settled for a cushion cover.. it was time consuming but well worth the effort.. Kali or umbrella... kali or umbrella this is the one thought that kept repeating every waking and sleeping moment, and I was not able to decide what to do. 😩😧😏 When stitching a garment for oneself it seems so much more effort less and easier when compared to doing it for someone else.  Trust me i know..!!!  😣 My friend wanted to buy a ghagra/ lengha for helself.. We looked into a few which were online but nothing seemed actually good enough for the price. We were disappointed.😔 Then one day she suggests.. you know to stitch why don't you stitch me one??  I was like " SAY WHAT".😨  Then slowly the idea seemed good.. really good...  😉😊 But once we started looking into the fabric and the actual  time came to stitch the garment my night mare began. so many questions i kept asking myself.. which style?? how simple ??? will she like it??? etcccc... 😖😖😖😖 Any way finally I settle on a simple top made of sequenced material a...

Time to do some more crochet.  AH!! 😵I love to spend time cuddled on the couch under my blanket with some wool and a crochet needle. And of course the computer ( need the pattern you see). 😉  Soooo... Today's project is a PONCHO that I made for a friends daughter. As usual I choose something very simple and easy. The instructions in the video were also easy to follow. This is the final piece. I got the pattern from    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jIqVPuD5R8 I increased the foundation stitches to fit for a 6 yr old, I also adjusted to height accordingly. I believe its a project that beginners can try out.  so what say want to try..??  Okk..while you do that me back to hunting for what I am going to do next...

Some wool and a crochet needle can help pass the time and bring forth beautiful creations. oh yes!!! Winter is coming. And with the present climatic changes we can't even predict if it's going to be bad or good. Be prepared Crocheted a cap with ear covers. It's a basic crochet pattern that's easy.

A simple Frock with top bib and gathered skirt. With satin ribbon ties for back toes and a zipper back opening. Added the lace trim for extra decoration.  It's a very easy project with the right measurements and the basic bodies draft pattern.

Pattu pavadai.. A traditional dress for the young girls down in South India... It can be bought ready made or stitched according to choice. The grandness of the dress depends on the occasion. I stitched this for my daughter.. who loved it. The long skirt.. flares out as she twirls around.. I stitched the skirt with a attached bib to act as a slip and the top is stitched with puff sleeves and a low back with ties.. Loved the color and the gold work adds grandness..

This is a chain stich filling with shisha work done on a kameez. The design was traced from the self print of the salwar. 

This is a box pleated skirt made with 2 fabric combinations. It is very easy to do and takes less time and effort. * First calculate the wanted waist and length measurements for the garment.. * Then cut the fabric into strips of desired width  depending on the wanted width for doing the box pleat. * Mark the length of the skirt and the cut fabric. * Attach the 2 fabric alternatively. * Finish the bottom hem. Then do the box pleat. * Attach the belt to the skirt. * Attach the fastners and voila.. we have

This is a 3 layer skirt which I  made for my daughter. I used net with cotton lining  fabric. I loved the way it flows when down when worn. It took some time to make it since it was my first time and also because of all the gathering on net fabric. I am sure with time and some practice it would be easy.

Today I stitched yet another skirt and blouse for my little A..it was a gift set piece from my friend.. the color combination is really good..cant wait to try it on her..

Hi All, sterday I stitched a 3 tire frock for my D.. She loved it.. Kept showing off to everyone by going round and round. I felt so proud. Here is the pic  Will post the next one soon..

Hi..Todays new project which I had been putting off for sometime now is a frock with circular skirt. I had some left over fabric from a previous project which i have used here. I traced out the bodice part from an other top of hers and for the skirt I followed the tutorial from www.lifestyle.com.au The armhole and the neckline are finished with bias binding and the skirt bottom finished with picot. I attached a 1 inch wide strip at the side to tie  bow at the back..it was a fairly easy project once i had everything cut out :) suitable for beginers I would say.. Well will see u with the next project soon.

Going step by step starting with the stem. Have a few more stem motifs to get done then will go to the next. Doing one color all the way at a time has been much more easier than getting done each motif on a whole.. So me getting back to stitching.. See u soon

Hi.. I have been working on the saree a little at a time... And still have a lot to get done... Now going one color at a time since managing the threads together was becoming a problem... They kept getting tangled... Will upload pic soon... Till then take care...

I have used satin stitch for the petals, hungarian braided chain for the green thread, and detached buttonhole stitch for the center. I tried to match it with thw birder design stitches.. I still am working on the border but wanted to check out how the pallu motif would look once done.. What say... is it ok?? Any suggestions

My achievement for today.... :) ..... After the first success I asked my mom to spare me another blouse bit to practice on.. And guess what...   To my suprise....she gave me a bunch and said " you saved me the hassle of going to a tailor.. now i got my own tailor at home.."  She must be really lucky... At least for now  (he he).....since I'm very excited at present to deny her this wish...  So now that I've got a hang of it.. Think I'll go slow.. Maybe try something different too... Will update soon..  So for now signing off.. 

When one has a good teacher.... Stitching can be fun... A big thank you to Mrs.Vani at http://artvani-vani.blogspot.in/2010/03/method-of-stitching-sari-blouse.html .. I stitched a blouse for my mom.. I made a few alterations .... A little here and a little there and its came out ok.. One thing I learnt is.. Patterns are just the basic guidlines for a person to make a garment...  The final stitched product depends on the shape and structure of the person wearing it.. I'm off now to do my next.. I am back !!! I know.. Thats what I say all the time then go missing... And I'm really sorry about that.. So this is what I'm working on right now...  Chain stitch for the stem.. Satin for the leaves and the main design is a combination of detachable buttonhole and satin... What say??
