WELCOME TO MY PAGE !!!!

Thank you for dropping by... :) Though I love stitching, I still have not fully started to post much coz I don't get much time. But seeing so many post with so many differnt ways of stitching is really inspiring that I am still digesting the fact that there are so many people around the world who have come as one and are helping others to do the same....hope one day I can be of help to...

Box pleated skirt

This is a box pleated skirt made with 2 fabric combinations. It is very easy to do and takes less time and effort.
* First calculate the wanted waist and length measurements for the garment..
* Then cut the fabric into strips of desired width  depending on the wanted width for doing the box pleat.
* Mark the length of the skirt and the cut fabric.
* Attach the 2 fabric alternatively.
* Finish the bottom hem. Then do the box pleat.
* Attach the belt to the skirt.
* Attach the fastners and voila.. we have

Netted Skirt

This is a 3 layer skirt made with net fabric. I loved the colour. and the way it flows when worn..  it took some time to make it because of the net fabric.. but with some practice it would be easy I hope.

A frock for my Angel

Hi..Todays new project which I had been putting off for sometime now is a frock with circular skirt. I had some left over fabric from a previous project which i have used here. I traced out the bodice part from an other top of hers and for the skirt I followed the tutorial from www.lifestyle.com.au
The armhole and the neckline are finished with bias binding and the skirt bottom finished with picot. I attached a 1 inch wide strip at the side to tie  bow at the back..it was a fairly easy project once i had everything cut out :) suitable for beginers I would say.. Well will see u with the next project soon.

The stem part of the design

Going step by step starting with the stem. Have a few more stem motifs to get done then will go to the next. Doing one color all the way at a time has been much more easier than getting done each motif on a whole.. So me getting back to stitching.. See u soon

Update on the Saree that I'm working on now

I have used satin stitch for the petals, hungarian braided chain for the green thread, and detached buttonhole stitch for the center. I tried to match it with thw birder design stitches..
I still am working on the border but wanted to check out how the pallu motif would look once done.. What say... is it ok?? Any suggestions

Indian Saree Blouse -II

My achievement for today.... :)
..... After the first success I asked my mom to spare me another blouse bit to practice on.. And guess what...
To my suprise....she gave me a bunch and said " you saved me the hassle of going to a tailor.. now i got my own tailor at home.."
She must be really lucky... At least for now  (he he).....since I'm very excited at present to deny her this wish...
So now that I've got a hang of it.. Think I'll go slow.. Maybe try something different too... Will update soon..
 So for now signing off..

Indian saree blouse

When one has a good teacher.... Stitching can be fun... A big thank you to Mrs.Vani at http://artvani-vani.blogspot.in/2010/03/method-of-stitching-sari-blouse.html .. I stitched a blouse for my mom.. I made a few alterations .... A little here and a little there and its came out ok..
One thing I learnt is.. Patterns are just the basic guidlines for a person to make a garment...  The final stitched product depends on the shape and structure of the person wearing it..
I'm off now to do my next.. Will update soon..

Recycled fabric put to use

My friend had a piece of shawl fabric from an old salwar that she was not using. She wanted to learn to stitch a skirt for her child with it. It was simple. We started out with a skirt and made a gathered skirt.;) But since we had excess fabric I made an extra dress. :)

My next step

Finally I settled for a simple design and started on it. But I don't get much time to sit with it. It's a very slow progress but what I have done so far is this... tatda..

FEATHER stitch in the making

I started this project with the hope of finishing it soon..I had it all planned out.and it was coming out just fine until this point..after finishing so much i'm stuck now at deciding what design to do in between the lines, should i use multi colour thread and with what stitch. I had decided on circular design with the chemanthy stitch but at this point i am doubtful about how good it would be.. any suggestions???
