Update on the Saree that I'm working on now

Image
I have used satin stitch for the petals, hungarian braided chain for the green thread, and detached buttonhole stitch for the center. I tried to match it with thw birder design stitches.. I still am working on the border but wanted to check out how the pallu motif would look once done.. What say... is it ok?? Any suggestions

My achievement for today.... :) ..... After the first success I asked my mom to spare me another blouse bit to practice on.. And guess what...   To my suprise....she gave me a bunch and said " you saved me the hassle of going to a tailor.. now i got my own tailor at home.."  She must be really lucky... At least for now  (he he).....since I'm very excited at present to deny her this wish...  So now that I've got a hang of it.. Think I'll go slow.. Maybe try something different too... Will update soon..  So for now signing off..

When one has a good teacher.... Stitching can be fun... A big thank you to Mrs.Vani at http://artvani-vani.blogspot.in/2010/03/method-of-stitching-sari-blouse.html .. I stitched a blouse for my mom.. I made a few alterations .... A little here and a little there and its came out ok.. One thing I learnt is.. Patterns are just the basic guidlines for a person to make a garment...  The final stitched product depends on the shape and structure of the person wearing it.. I'm off now to do my next.. Will update soon..
